JCT Contract Seminar

Harry Rawson, Senior Quantity Surveyor, recently attended an insightful seminar hosted by Addleshaw Goddard at their offices in Leeds, focusing on the new suite of JCT contracts now being adopted across the industry.

The session provided a detailed overview of the key changes from previous editions, including:

Amendments to reflect the requirements introduced by the Building Safety Act 2022
Expansion of Clause 3.15, with the addition of relevant events and relevant matters covering issues such as asbestos, contaminated materials, and unexploded ordnance
Inclusion of provisions for epidemics as both relevant events and matters
Introduction of a new Target Cost Contract, designed to provide an alternative to the NEC Target Cost Contract
