Tom Haley

Tom Haley

Managing Director

Tom has over 23 years’ experience handling quantity surveying matters in the construction industry. He is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and has been appointed as a quantum expert witness on disputes ranging from £100k to £5m, as well as acting as an advocate on disputes ranging from £1m to £80m.

As a former Commercial Leader at Laing O’Rourke, Tom’s project experience covers a wide range of sectors, including residential, health care, education, defence, justice, water, highways, rail, nuclear, manufacturing, and disaster recovery. He takes the time to understands complex technical issues and analyses situations from multiple perspectives. He produces high-quality reports based on robust methodologies.

He is an RICS APC assessor and is the external examiner for the BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying Degree Apprenticeship course at Leeds Beckett University.

Tom leads the provision of construction claims and expert witness services to our clients.

David has 17 years’ experience working with leading main contractors in the Yorkshire region. He is experienced in handling all aspects of commercial management from pre-contract through to final account.

With a strong commercial awareness, he thrives in a team environment, specialising in the design and procurement of projects to minimise risk and maximise opportunity. David has a wealth of experience handling final accounts, including the pricing and negotiation of variations, and loss and expense.

David provides quantity surveying and construction claims services to our clients.

Andrew Shaw

Andrew Shaw

Associate Director

Andrew is an experienced commercial management professional with over 20 years’ experience working with leading tier one main contractors. He has commercially led major projects in the UK and Middle East, handling all aspects of commercial management.

Building on a strong foundation by training in a main contracting environment, Andrew transferred to the Middle East and held change control responsibilities on major oil and gas schemes, as well as commercial management roles on some of the region’s largest projects. Since returning to the UK he commercially led several major projects in the Yorkshire region, working on schemes both pre- and post-contract.

Andrew provides quantity surveying, construction claims services and expert witness services to our clients.

Ben Thomson Quantik

Ben Thomson

Associate Director

Ben has over 24 years’ experience working in the construction industry as a commercial professional. He has extensive experience delivering quantity surveying and commercial management services across projects ranging from small refurbishment works to major multi million pound developments.

As a former Commercial Director at William Birch & Sons Limited, Ben’s project experience spans a wide range of sectors, including education, healthcare, commercial and industrial. His experience includes new build, refurbishment, restoration and modular construction projects. He has extensive experience operating under both JCT and NEC forms of contract, including JCT 1998 through to 2024 editions, as well as NEC3 and NEC4.

Ben is chartered quantity surveyor and has significant experience in contract administration, commercial management, dispute management and the preparation and assessment of construction claims. He takes a practical and analytical approach to resolving commercial issues and delivering robust outcomes for clients.

He holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in Construction Law and is a qualified adjudicator, having completed the RICS Diploma in Adjudication. He is also a member of the regional committee of the Adjudication Society for Yorkshire.

Ben leads our adjudication services and supports the delivery of construction claims and dispute resolution services to our clients.
